Grado offers a mini adaptor cable that converts a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) plug to 1/8 inch (3.5mm) plug. The mini adaptor cable has a 1/8 inch (3.5mm) plug then 8 inches (20cm) of cable connected to a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) jack. The 8 inches (20cm) of cable eliminates added leverage on the output circuit board of the source. The mini adaptor cable is constructed of the same high quality wire as their headphone cable. Grado guarantees no degradation of sonic quality with Grado headphones while using their mini adaptor cable.

Flexibility allows better, longer lasting connections. Hold it and you can feel the quality. Not a cheap mass produced Radio S---k or WalM--t knockoff. If this what you need then this is the one to get.
I use this to adapt a studio-grade miniplug-to-stereo RCA adapter and audiophile-grade stereo interconnects to my music-server. I gave it only four stars because I hope Grado will manufacture an oxygen-free copper (OFC) version of this adapter (the SR-125 'phones use OFC, allowing further detail than Grado's SR-80 'phones that precede this model), not because it lacks in quality or value. It also allows me to adapt my splendid Grado SR-125 headphones to my server if I don't want to keep my family awake or I desire the extra detail my 'phones bring forth. The design of this adapter allows me to avoid damaging my expensive soundcard or any of my audio equipment. GRADO. MANUFACTURE AN OFC VERSION OF THIS ADAPTER, ADDITIONAL COST WOULD BE WORTH IT.
More expensive than I would have liked to have paid, this adapter is extremely high quality and saves my much more expensive headphones from stress on the plug. I'm glad I bit the bullet and bought it as this relatively minor cost is far less than replacing my headphones. As always with Grado products, the quality is awesome.
